5th Lancaster Rainbows' plastics campaign

That this House welcomes the campaigning of 5th Lancaster Rainbows on the issue of plastic recycling; praises the work the unit have done over a number of years to raise awareness of this important matter; draws particular attention to their advocacy for a deposit return scheme similar to those in place in many other countries; expresses disappointment that the Government’s proposed deposit return scheme for England, Wales and Northern Ireland is unlikely to be introduced until late 2024, six years after it was originally announced; and calls on the Government to look to bring forward this date.
