ATTACK ON PEACE RALLY IN COLOMBO

That this House notes with extreme concern the BBC news report of the attack by a mob led by a Sri Lankan government minister on a peace rally on 8th January 2007 in Colombo, organised by the United People's Movement, a political group representing a wide range of political parties and civil society organisations; and urges the Government to express its condemnation of such actions to the Sri Lankan government.
