AWARD TO THE HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR CLWYD SOUTH

Motion Text

That this House congratulates the honourable Member for Clwyd South on being presented with the Welsh European of the Year by the European Movement: applauds his creation of the successful Llangollen Eurozone initiative in July of this year to coincide with the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod; recognises the lead given by the Llangollen experiment to the rest of the United Kingdom in demonstrating that membership of a single European currency does not threaten the sovereignty or prosperity of the UK; and looks forward to a positive outcome of the assessment of the five economic tests to be completed by June 2003.
