CHARGES FOR PRE-PAYMENT METER CUSTOMERS

That this House notes with deep concern that consumers using pre-payment meters are currently being charged higher prices for their gas and electricity than those who pay by direct debit; regards this excessive charging of many people on low incomes, including those without access to bank accounts, as unacceptable; and urges Ofgem to ensure that this practice ends as soon as possible.
