Motion Text

That this House welcomes the opportunity there now is to appoint a new Chief Inspector of Schools; and believes that, while maintaining an evidence-based school inspection system in support of raising standards, the new postholder should address the following priorities; providing better support for staff and schools following inspection, raising the morale of teachers, encouraging more people to come into the teaching profession and realising that encouragement and praise are just as effective tools for getting the best out of teachers as they are for pupils.
