CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX APPEAL

That this House congratulates the humanitarian aid charity, Boxes of Hope Cumbria, on their outstanding efforts to provide shoeboxes filled with Christmas presents for some of Romania's most impoverished villages; commends Boxes of Hope Cumbria for their donation of surplus funds to supporting education in Romania; applauds the people of south Cumbria, Eden and Furness for their sustained support of the shoebox appeal by filling 11,217 shoeboxes last year; and encourages other communities to support this worthy cause.
