Community efforts to protect NHS workers during the covid-19 pandemic

Motion Text

That this House congratulates the innovative measures undertaken by individuals and groups to support and protect NHS workers; recognises the national spirit and community creativity collectively engaged to tackle shortfalls in supplies; acknowledges the meaningful contribution of those groups in the fight against the covid-19 pandemic; notes in particular the efforts made by 3D SquintPrints and Edinburgh Shield Force, both of whom are employing 3D printers to design protective face visors for healthcare workers; applauds the initiative of NHS Scotland - For the Love of Scrubs who, in coordination with hospitals throughout Scotland, have organised volunteers to produce and sew much needed protective clothing for frontline workers; and further congratulates the prompt endeavours of that initiative to protect our NHS.
