CONSERVATIVE PARTY POLICY ON MALTA

Motion Text

That this House notes that Malta is holding its referendum on joining the European Union on 8th March; further notes that two recently reselected Conservative MEPs, Roger Helmer and Daniel Hannan, are actively supporting the Campaign for National Independence which is calling for a No vote in that referendum; welcomes Malta's aspiration to join the European Union; and demand that the leadership of the Conservative Party make clear to the people of Malta and to Mr Helmer and Mr Hannan that it is Conservative policy to support Malta and the other candidate countries' accession to the EU.
