DEFENCE CONTRACTS

That this House notes that United States Administration policy insists that a minimum of 50 per cent. of the work on all United States defence contracts awarded to foreign companies is carried out in the United States; appreciates the United States Administration's support for the domestic aerospace and defence sector; and calls on the British Government to introduce a similar policy here in the United Kingdom in order to protect the UK aerospace and defence industry and ensure that we maintain the highly skilled workforce which ensures the UK aerospace sector is a world leader.
