DENNIS SKINNER: NATURE OF THE BEAST

That this House commends the 2017 documentary film Dennis Skinner: Nature of the Beast written and directed by Liverpudlian Daniel Draper, and produced by Christie Allanson and Daniel Draper; notes the film's honest depiction of Dennis Skinner's lifelong contribution to socialism, trade unionism and Labour Party politics, his decency, his commitment to his class, local community and its people and his warm personal qualities and love of nature; welcomes the positive public and critical acclaim the film is receiving for both the substance and style of the production that took more than three years to complete with a budget of only £5,000 largely crowd-funded; and encourages as wide an audience as possible so that all those with an interest or involvement in political activism or parliamentary democracy learn the lessons of a life dedicated to working class struggle.
