That this House notes recent comments by Sir Bob Geldof, describing the European Union's contribution to relieving famine in Ethiopia as 'appalling and pathetic'; further notes Sir Bob's long-standing campaign for famine relief in Africa and recognises his in-depth knowledge of the situation; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to call for an immediate investigation into where and how the EU aid budget is spent and put pressure on the European Union to increase the level of aid given to Ethiopia.
