EL SYSTEMA AND SIMON BOLIVAR ORCHESTRA

Motion Text

That this House congratulates the Simon Bolivar Orchestra on its successful season at the Royal Festival Hall; notes that the orchestra is the product of the National Network of Youth and Children's Orchestras and of Venezuela-El Systema, set up in 1975, which has brought classical music to some of the poorest slums in Venezuela; and calls on the Government to support the introduction of El Systema nationwide in Britain.
