EQUALITY COMMISSION IN NORTHERN IRELAND

Motion Text

That this House notes the recent publication by the Equality Commission in Northern Ireland of its 26th Annual Monitoring Report which, despite one of its key findings in the opening section of the report indicating that every year since 2006 Protestants have comprised fewer of those people gaining employment than Roman Catholics, has not, in this or previous reports, made any serious effort to analyse why this under-representation has occurred over a 10 year period; and calls on the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland to ensure that this repeated failure is addressed as a matter of urgency.
