Estate management charges

Motion Text

That this House expresses concern that many homeowners on privately managed housing estates face estate management charges with limited transparency, accountability and consumer protection; notes concerns over inadequate consultation, poor estate management and the limited rights available to freehold homeowners to challenge charges or management arrangements with companies such as Blue Property Management; welcomes the Government’s commitment to leasehold and commonhold reform; and calls on the Government to ensure forthcoming legislation provides stronger protections for homeowners, including greater transparency, effective oversight of private estate management companies and fairer rights to challenge unreasonable estate management charges.
