ETHNIC MINORITIES IN THE METROPOLITAN POLICE

Motion Text

That this House notes with concern the Metropolitan Police's failure to properly resolve complaints of racial discrimination and harassment by black, Asian and other ethnic minority officers and staff; recommends that equal opportunities training be given regularly to serving officers; suggests that officers complaining of racial discrimination or harassment are able to obtain independent advice and assistance; and calls for an independent body to review every accusation of racism.
