FREE CARE FOR THE ELDERLY

Motion Text

That this House welcomes the increased expenditure in the NHS under the Labour Government; further welcomes the Chancellor's recent Pre-Budget Report which looked to increase investment in children and education; calls on the Government to focus on providing additional support for the elderly in the community through the introduction of free long-term care for the elderly; further notes that such care is provided for senior citizens in Scotland; and calls on the Government to ensure that elderly citizens living in England and Wales have the same benefits as those in Scotland.
