FREE SOFT DRINKS FOR DRIVERS

That this House welcomes the significant move by a north east-based bar chain to offer free soft drinks to designated drivers as a superb example of corporate responsibility that will make an important contribution to reducing road accidents and deaths over the festive period; further congratulates the chain for working with Northumbria Police to promote sensible drinking habits; recognises the importance of supporting and enabling drivers who choose not to drink alcohol at this time of year; and urges all other chains and public houses to follow this example.
