FUNDS FOR THE TRAINING OF EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGISTS

Motion Text

That this House recognises the fundamental service that educational psychologists offer to children with special needs, their family and teachers by tackling problems associated with learning difficulties, social or emotional problems; notes that Government funding for training educational psychologists appears to have been diverted by local authorities; and calls on the Government and the Local Government Association to take whatever steps are necessary to ensure that there is an appropriate supply of essential professional support to meet the needs of vulnerable children and young people.
