GAMBIAN ELECTIONS

Motion Text

That this House notes with concern that President Jammeh of the Gambia has once again resorted to violence on the eve of the Gambian presidential elections in order to intimidate voters; expresses fears that he may seek to rig these elections in order to remain in power; and calls on the Government to do all it can via the Commonwealth, the United Nations and bilaterally to ensure free and fair elections in the Gambia.
