Motion Text

That this House is appalled that General Pinochet, the head of the Chilean armed forces, was allowed to visit Britain to make arms purchases; believes him to be an evil and bloodthirsty man who overthrew democracy in Chile and whose regime killed, maimed and tortured thousands of Chilean people; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to declare him persona non grata and urge the current Chilean government to greater efforts in finding the perpetrators of the Pinochet-led reign of terror.
