Motion Text

That this House records with horror the gas attacks on the people of Halabja on 17th March 1988; recalls the terrible suffering of thousands of people who died painfully from the aerial bombardment; recognises that the results are still with the Halabja people through cancers, birth abnormalities, deformities, pollution and poisoned land; calls upon Her Majesty's Government to support a World Health Organisation investigation into the need of the people and ensure they get the urgent medical help needed; and further calls upon the United Nations to release the names of all the companies who supplied the chemical agents to the Ba'ath regime.
