HELEN MELVILLE OF THE LUNDIN LADIES GOLF CLUB

That this House recognises the enormous contribution to golf, particularly the development of women's and children’s golf, by Helen Melville of Lundin Ladies Golf Club in Fife; notes that Mrs Melville has been a member for 60 years and a club champion 11 times, has been involved in all aspects of club, county and Scottish golf and as a Club Captain she took responsibility for project managing an extension to the historic 1897 clubhouse, and as Vice-Captain took a major role in planning and delivering events to commemorate the Club's centenary in 1991; further notes Mrs Melville has maintained club archives important to research for a book published in 2016 to mark the club’s 125th anniversary; and recognises Helen Melville as a worthy first recipient of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Golf's Longstanding Achievement Award 2016 and has received honorary membership of the Group.
