HS2 in Cumbria

Motion Text

That this House welcomes the Government’s commitment to fund HS2; notes that the Lake District is the biggest visitor destination in the UK outside of London; further notes that Cumbria has over 2,500 tourism-dependent business; recognises the Government's intention for HS2 to improve transport links in the North; and calls on the Government to ensure that HS2 actually stops in Cumbria and services that vibrant, beautiful part of the country.
