That this House congratulates ITV Granada on its 50th anniversary; recognises the central role that Granada has played over the past 50 years in the field of television providing news entertainment; pays tribute to its central role in helping to promote the North West region on a global stage for the last 50 years, having created iconic television programmes that are universally acclaimed, including the longest running soap opera and Granada's most famous TV export, Coronation Street; and looks forward to ITV Granada going from strength to strength over the next 50 years.
