That this House welcomes the announcement of expansion in both employment and production at Leyland Trucks and believes that, combined with Foden, the company can become a global leader; but is concerned over the decision to drop the Leyland name and use DAF instead, a company that took over Leyland Trucks in 1987, asset-stripped the company, and then went into receivership; and wishes to see the Leyland name, which is renowned throughout the world, maintained as the company expands.
