Motion Text

That this House honours the memory of the 230,000 people who died during the Covid-19 pandemic; recognises the grief of bereaved families who lost loved ones in terrible circumstances; commends Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK for its continued campaign to advocate for the victims of Covid and their families; commits to ensuring mistakes made during the pandemic are not repeated by supporting the implementation of the recommendations of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry; acknowledges that implementing the recommendations of the Inquiry are only the beginning of ensuring the UK is best positioned to respond future pandemics; records its concern that the Government’s response to Module 3 of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry does not commit to establishing a standardised national process for the use of do not attempt CPR decisions; further records its concern that the Government’s response to Module 3 of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry does not commit to prepare adequate surge capacity for hospital and emergency services; and further commits to working with bereaved families to ensure that the Government revises its position on these issues.
