NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF THE SCOTCH WHISKY ASSOCIATION

Motion Text

That this House notes that the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA), which represents the iconic industry globally, has announced the appointment of a new chief executive, Karen Betts, who will take up her position on 19 May 2017; understands that Ms Betts will become the first female chief executive of the SWA in its 105 year history, which is a very positive appointment that sends a strong message out to young women across Scotland and the wider UK; wishes Ms Betts well in her new position; and looks forward to building a strong working relationship to ensure that this vitally important industry continues to grow globally.
