NHS FERTILITY TREATMENT

That this House notes the unsuccessful legal challenge of Mrs Julie Seale against the decision of Sheffield Health Authority to deny her fertility treatment and believes that there should be no necessity for such issues to be taken to court but that the Secretary of State for Health should act to ensure that fertility treatment is available to all couples of normal child-bearing age who are experiencing difficulty in conceiving, irrespective of whether either has children by previous relationships, and not conditional upon their ability to pay.
