NHS TRUSTS' BUSINESS PLANS

Motion Text

That this House notes the increasing percentage of Health Service spending which is controlled by non-accountable trusts; is concerned that there is no obligation on these trusts to make available to the public or their representatives business plans, according to which public money will be spent; in particular notes the absolute refusal of the Northern General Trust in Sheffield to make available such plans to the people of Sheffield or their honourable Members; believing that ultimately such trusts should be abolished, calls on the Government to compel them to make publicly available all information on future spending plans and past spending results so that their intentions and performance can be judged by those whose money they are spending.
