NORTHERN IRELAND UNDER-17 FOOTBALL TEAM

Motion Text

That this House congratulates the Northern Ireland under-17 football team, and their manager Kenny Shiels, on reaching the finals of the European Championships, considering they were in competition with some of the cream of European football talent while most of the Northern Ireland players are part-time; and calls upon the Government to ensure that resources are channelled into the development of youth football, particularly excellent youth tournaments like the Milk Cup, in order that this success can be built upon for the future.
