PARISH COUNCILS

Motion Text

That this House acknowledges the important contribution that parish councils make to both their localities and to the wider political arena; congratulates the sustained efforts of parish councillors who tirelessly volunteer their time to represent the members of their community; notes the value that parishioners hold in their parish council; and calls on the Government and local authorities to show their recognition of this integral part of community representation by ensuring increased and consistent consultation with parish councils on decisions regarding their local areas.
