Motion Text

That this House congratulates all the staff who took part in a ballot over plans for the opting out of St Mary's, St Charles, the Samaritan and Western Ophthalmic hospitals of Parkside Health Authority; notes that 50 per cent. of those eligible voted and that 123 supported plans, 1221 opposed them and 10 papers were spoilt; additionally notes that thousands of local people have also demonstrated their opposition; further believes that this is a true demonstration of the views of those who work in the Health Service and that the Secretary of State should refuse to allow the opt out to go ahead.
