PLIGHT OF ASYLUM SEEKING HUNGER STRIKERS

Motion Text

That this House condemns the current immigration policies of Her Majesty's Government, which have led refugees such as Farouk Haidari, Farnborz Gravindk and Mokhtar Haydary in Glasgow to take such drastic action as sewing up their mouths and going on hunger strike rather than face deportation; notes, with great concern, that two of the refugees were found unconscious and were hospitalised, and, in view of the severity of the current situation, calls on the Home Office to demonstrate humanity and immediately reverse the decision to deport these men to Iran.
