POST OFFICE CLOSURES

Motion Text

That this House notes the recent announcement made by the Post Office of two branches closing in the Chorley constituency - Eaves Lane Post Office and Moor Road Post Office; recognises that post offices continue to close both in rural and urban districts despite Government investment to help support post offices; asks that the Post Office looks to opening and running its services from local shops and stores where possible in order to maintain a service while reducing costs; and calls on the Government to work with the Post Office in support of post office services in both rural and urban areas.
