PUBLIC INQUIRY IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Motion Text

That this House notes yet more calls for another public inquiry into the death of a member of the Nationalist community in Northern Ireland while hundreds of other deaths have yet to produce prosecutions; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government while awaiting the outcome of an investigation by Justice Cory into other deaths under suspicious circumstances in Northern Ireland, to insist that the Government of the Irish Republic investigate the extent of the role that the Irish Government played during 1969-1970 in the establishment and funding of the Provisional IRA in both countries.
