Motion Text

That this House notes that the media coverage of the issue of recruitment fraud in Hackney has been vindicated by the report of Ian MacDonald QC, in that it confirms 'a serious and unacceptable level of irregularities and indicated inadequacies in the Borough's recruitment procedures and practices'; further notes that only the attention of the Press stimulated a review of these practices in 1995; and further notes that many other measures recommended for many years have still to be adopted.
