RESTORING THE RAIL INDUSTRY TO PUBLIC OWNERSHIP

Motion Text

That this House believes that in the light of the latest rail disaster at Potters Bar the only way to restore confidence in the safety of the United Kingdom rail network is to bring the rail network back into public ownership and put an end to the multiplicity of private contractors and sub-contractors operating within the current system who put the lives of the travelling public at risk; and further calls upon the Government to review immediately its plans to introduce a public private partnership for London Underground.
