RIGHT TO PROTEST IN PARLIAMENT SQUARE

Motion Text

That this House recognises that the right to protest is an essential element of a democratic society; notes that the right to protest in Parliament Square is an historic one and that it has been upheld in court when the City of Westminster attempted the removal of Mr Brian Haw to whom the House offers congratulations on the completion of his two year vigil for peace; and further believes that the duty of honourable Members is to uphold those liberties.
