RIVER KENT FLOOD DEFENCES

Motion Text

That this House remembers the widespread devastation that Storm Desmond caused to people’s homes across Cumbria more than three years ago; supports the thousands whose homes were flooded and who still live in fear of what will happen every time there is heavy rainfall; backs the flood defence plans for the River Kent, which will protect more than 1,400 homes and more than 1,100 businesses; and calls on the town of Kendal to come together to back these plans, which will protect friends, neighbours and relatives who have been flooded.
