SALE OF BRITISH APPLES IN SUPERMARKETS

Motion Text

That this House notes that only 39 per cent. of apples sold at supermarkets in the UK are British-grown; recognises that, according to a report carried out by Friends of the Earth, greengrocers and market stalls stock more British apples, sold at a cheaper price; and calls on United Kingdom supermarket chains to support British produce and stock a greater percentage of British apples, providing consumers with the opportunity to support British produce.
