SOMALILAND ELECTIONS

Motion Text

That this House welcomes the recent elections held in Somaliland, and commends all citizens and candidates for showing their clear commitment to democratic processes in that country; further welcomes the role the UK played in funding the international election observation mission; urges all Somalilanders to support continued stability and progress in Somaliland's institutions; and calls on the Government and the international community to engage positively with the Government of Somaliland on key issues such as recognition, trade and development.
