THREAT TO BBC RADIO MERSEYSIDE

Motion Text

That this House congratulates BBC Radio Merseyside for the high quality of the service it offers listeners in the Merseyside area; notes that its high quality output has attracted the largest audience of any local radio station in the United Kingdom and regularly attracts more listeners in Merseyside that any network service in Merseyside; notes with concern proposals by the BBC to reducing the resources available for engineering services; and believes that this will adversely affect the ability of the station to maintain its high quality output and its high level of attractiveness to local listeners.
