TRADE UNION REPRESENTATIVE ON LONDON UNDERGROUND

Motion Text

That this House welcomes the news that an employment tribunal has ruled that tube driver and RMT member Arwyn Thomas was unfairly dismissed; believes the decision vindicates the stance of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) in defending its members despite the media hostility and personal vilification of RMT General Secretary Bob Crow; notes that London Underground has said it would abide by the decision of the tribunal hearing; and endorses the call of Mr Thomas's union that he should be reinstated with immediate effect.
