Motion Text
That this House is deeply concerned that the planned July 2000 United Nations referendum enabling the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination may be postponed again due to the problem posed by over 70,000 appeals presented by Morocco; believes that this could result in the referendum being delayed beyond the United Nations deadline; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to ensure that the parties in the conflict strictly abide by the terms of the signed Houston and UN Appeals agreements.
