VISIT OF NORWEGIAN ROYAL FAMILY

Motion Text

That this House welcomes the visit of His Majesty King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway, accompanied by Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, marking the centenary of Norwegian independence; notes that Norway, a long-standing friend and ally of the United Kingdom, has prospered magnificently as an independent nation within the boundaries of Europe; further notes the importance of maintaining the deeply entrenched trading links, shared cultural affinities, historic military ties and powerful educational bonds between the two countries; and hopes that the visit will further strengthen the relationship between the Royal families of both nations.
