WESTERN SAHARA (No. 2)

Motion Text

That this House notes the seriousness of the human rights situation in the Western Sahara and the need for an urgent international and independent investigation into any violence in the region; acknowledges the need for Minurso to be given a human rights monitoring mandate; further acknowledges the need for the Western Sahara territorial water to be excluded from the EU-Morocco Fisheries Partnership Agreement; and calls on the Government, in its capacity as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, to take decisive action toward ensuring a free and fair referendum on self determination for the Saharawi people.
