WIDE LOADS ON ROADS

That this House notes the severe disruption to motorways in the UK caused by wide loads moving at peak times; recognises that the traffic congestion caused by wide loads operating at peak times must cost the UK economy millions of pounds every year; and calls on the Highways Agency to ensure that wide loads are only given permission to use UK roads and motorways during off-peak hours.
