WORLD GLAUCOMA WEEK AND ACCESS TO EFFECTIVE TREATMENTS

Motion Text

That this House welcomes World Glaucoma Week from 10 to 16 March 2019; commits to ensuring that the one million glaucoma-related visits to the NHS are met with a state of the art health service focusing on best patient outcomes and efficient and safe service delivery; further commits to scrutinize current NHS improvement plans to separate cataract and glaucoma surgeries which are safer for patients, more cost efficient and common practice across the UK; supports maintaining long-term improvements to eye health and reducing hospital visits; and encourages further action to promote a culture of good eye health.
