That this House congratulates the World Intellectual Property Office on marking the 19th World Intellectual Property Day, which has been celebrated annually on 26 April since 2000; understands that World Intellectual Property Day was conceived to raise awareness of how patents, copyright, trademarks and designs impact on daily life and to celebrate creativity and the contribution made by creators and innovators to the development of societies across the globe; notes that this special occasion will be celebrated here in the Palace of Westminster at an event organised by the Intellectual Property Awareness Network (IPAN) featuring a panel of experts to discuss the future of innovation and intellectual property in this country's automotive sector, with a particular focus on UK's world leadership in new technology for driverless vehicles; commends the dedication of IPAN in organising this event; and wishes IPAN continued success for the years to come.
