Ban the sale and use of high-frequency and ultrasonic animal deterrents

Background

We call on the Government to introduce legislation to ban the sale, supply and use of all ultrasonic and high-frequency sound devices marketed or used as animal deterrents. These products should be removed from sale and existing units withdrawn from use entirely.

Additional details

Sold as humane and safe, but we think this is misleading. They can cause pain & harm to birds, bees, bats, cats, squirrels, rabbits, hedgehogs & wildlife, many protected or vital to nature. Noise travels through walls, often run non-stop at full power. We believe these can disrupt survival, causes suffering, ruins habitats, disturbs homes & health. In our view no safe ultrasonic method exists - total ban is the only solution to stop the high-pitch horrible sound that disturbs the peace and makes everyday life unbearable for everyone nearby.
